Why Ghrita?

घृतं तु मधुरं सौम्यं मृदु शीतवीर्यमनभिष्यन्दिस्नेहनम् । स्मृतिमति मेधा कान्ति स्वर लावण्य सौकुमार्यौजस्तेजो बल करमायुष्यं वृष्यं मेध्यं वयःस्थापनं विषहरं रक्षोघ्नं च॥ सु.सू.४५/९६

Ghee is sweet, soothing, cooling, and nourishing. It enhances intelligence, memory, complexion, glow, strength, andojas, while delaying ageing and offering protective, detoxifying benefits.

In Ayurveda, ghrita is considered the most refined medium for healing and nourishment.

It has the ability to carry the qualities of medicinal herbs deep into the tissue, while also nourishing and protecting on its own. This makes ghrita especially valuable for skin care — where balance, repair, and strength matter more than quick results.

When herbs are processed into ghee through classical methods, their action becomes gentle, stable, and effective over time.

The Intent Behind Ghritacharyā™

Ghritacharyā took shape from what I see consistently in Ayurvedic practice — skin heals best when it is deeply nourished, not overstimulated.

In Ayurveda, ghrita has always been used for healing. I have worked with medicated ghee and Shatadhauta Ghrita in my clinical practice for years, especially for skin that is sensitive, stressed, or not responding well to regular skincare.

For Ghritacharyā, we stayed close to this knowledge. The ghee is medicated with herbs using the classical Ghritapaak method and then prepared as medicated Shatadhauta Ghrita.

Herbs such as Yashtimadhu, Shatavari, Manjishtha, and Bala are chosen because I trust them. They are safe, nourishing, and support skin healing over time. With Ghritacharyā, medicated ghee is not an ingredient — it is at the heart of our care.

This is more than skincare. It is Ayurveda, woven into daily life.
